Positivity was a difficult concept for me. I remember at almost every doctor appointment I would attend the doctor would always tell me to stay positive. I was over it and would roll my eyes. I would always think, “how can I possibly stay so positive when I am dealing with so much pain and darkness”?

At first, I thought that was the silliest thing, but now I understand what they meant. I finally understand what it means for me to be positive. It isn’t just smiling my pain away or putting on a happy face, it is much more. I need to find ways to help surround myself with positivity. Sitting in my room crying all day watching sad movies wasn’t surrounding myself with positivity. I need to be around positive people and positive activities that give me motivation. Of course, I still have days that are bad and I have to look for the positive messages around me. I encourage you to also look for positive messages in your days.
