On November 19-20th I competed for the title of Miss Teen Maine. Pageant weekend was filled with lots of fun and fond memories that will last a lifetime. I know most of you are not familiar with pageantry and how it works, so I am going to give you a rundown of how the weekend went.
On Friday, the 18th I had registration. Registration is where I checked in, got my room assignment, and received my sashes for the weekend. Later that night I had a cocktail party where all the contestants got dazzled up. It was an opportunity for friends and family to gather and meet the contestants.
On Saturday, the 19th I had the preliminary competition. This was an extremely busy day. I woke up and enjoyed a yoga class. I then spent the entire day learning the opening number and where to position myself on stage. Saturday evening, I competed in the opening number, Athletic wear, and finally my favorite, the evening wear competition.
Sunday, the 20th was Finals Day! I woke up and had my one-on-one interview with the judges. They asked me questions based on my delegate profile that we submitted a few months prior. That afternoon I learned who the semi-finalists were and who won awards. I am so happy to announce that I won the style award and placed in the top 8. The semi-finalist then re-competed in athletic wear and in their evening gown. The judges then narrowed it down to the top five contestants and then finally crowned a new Miss Teen Maine.
Although I did not walk away with the crown, I am still extremely proud of myself especially since I didn’t place last year. I can’t wait to see where my next adventures will take me.
Here are my final remarks as your Miss Teen Kittery 2022/2023
Over the past year, I was given the opportunity to represent the amazing Town of Kittery at the Miss Teen Maine competition. I am so happy to announce that I walked away placing in the Top 8 and earning the Style Award. This past year I have learned so much about myself and gained confidence. I never thought I would ever compete in a pageant, and you could say this has been the best thing that could have happened to me. I will never forget the memories I have made along the way, especially the friendships that will last a lifetime.
I can't thank the Town of Kittery enough for all the love and support, it has truly been an honor and I hope I made you proud. To all my friends and family, I couldn't do this journey without each of you! Thank you for all the love and support you have given me; it truly means the world. This was my last year competing as your Miss Teen Kittery, but I have many amazing opportunities that lie ahead for me. So, thank you all for an incredible year. This is an experience I will never forget.
Signing off as your Miss Teen Kittery 2022/2023!
