About a month ago I was given the opportunity to walk for two amazing designers in New York Fashion Week (NYFW). It was such a surreal experience and I made it on a Times Square Billboard! Today I want to give you a look into my fashion week experience.
Thursday- We arrived in New York. That night I had my fitting for my dress. This was the first time I was able to see what I was wearing! It was great to meet Archie Brown in person.
Friday- I walked for Archie Brown in 2 shows: 3 pm and 6 pm. My call time was 12 pm. Once I arrived they took me to a room where I got my hair and makeup done. You have no control over what you want your hair or makeup to look like the designer gets to choose all of that. Once that was done I had my final fitting and practiced my runway walk. Then it was showtime! Walking down a runway and looking at about 50 photographers was so surreal it didn’t even feel like I was walking.
Saturday- A “rest day”. I had no shows that I was walking in so I headed to the Runway 7 fashion show to cheer on one of my best friends.
Sunday- I was walking for a different designer, Hafanna swimwear. My show was at 8pm so my call time was 5. This show was called The Society Fashion show and it was at a really cool venue called the Hall of Mirrors. Here we got all of our hair and makeup done and were given our swimwear. Again having no control over hair, makeup or swim suit choice!.
This was such a memorable experience and I hope I get this amazing opportunity again.
