April is Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Awareness Month — a time dedicated to education, compassion, and amplifying the voices of those living with FND. For many, FND is an invisible condition that affects movement, speech, sensation, and daily functioning. Yet despite how common it is, awareness and understanding are still growing. This month is about changing that.
Living with FND has shaped my life in ways I never expected. It has challenged me, slowed me down, and forced me to redefine strength. But it has also taught me resilience, empathy, and the power of sharing our stories. When we speak openly about FND, we help others feel less alone and encourage conversations that lead to better support and understanding.
That’s exactly why I created the Courage Beneath the Crown Journal, now officially out. This journal was designed as a safe space for reflection, healing, and empowerment. Whether you’re living with FND, another neurological condition, or simply navigating life’s challenges, this journal encourages you to process emotions, track progress, and celebrate your courage — even on the hardest days.
FND Awareness Month is not only about education — it’s about community. It’s about reminding every person living with FND that their experiences are valid, their struggles are real, and their strength deserves recognition. Small actions like sharing resources, telling your story, supporting someone with FND, or simply learning more can make a meaningful difference.
This month, I invite you to join me in raising awareness, spreading compassion, and embracing courage. If you or someone you love is navigating FND, know that you are not alone. Your story matters. Your voice matters. And your courage — even when quiet — is powerful.
